Knesset Sanctions Fly: Lawmakers Reprimanded

The Knesset Ethics Committee issued disciplinary measures Monday against three lawmakers for inflammatory comments amid heightened wartime tensions. MK Michal Shir (Yesh Atid) was reprimanded after calling Prime Minister Netanyahu a “Hamas collaborator.” MK May Golan (Likud) was barred from speaking in four plenum sessions following a heated exchange with MK Meirav Ben Ari. The committee cited her “disruptive behavior” and prior warnings. MK Nissim Vaturi (Likud) was also reprimanded for likening anti-government protesters to Hamas operatives. The committee cited five separate violations. Amid a national crisis, the panel urged MKs to show restraint, warning of escalating penalties for incitement and personal attacks.
