Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently holding what sources describe as a critical meeting with Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, who has been tasked with implementing the administration's plan for demilitarizing Gaza and ending the war.
According to Arab sources, Kushner made commitments prior to his arrival in Israel that he would pressure Netanyahu and other Israeli decision-makers to approve the entry of an expert council designated to manage the Gaza Strip, despite Israeli objections to taking such steps before the territory's demilitarization begins.
Reports circulating on Arab networks indicate that Kushner pledged to leaders of the technocratic council for Gaza governance that he would apply maximum pressure on Israel to permit their entry. The director-general of the peace council is reportedly participating in the ongoing meeting with the prime minister now.
