Liberman: Sohlberg’s Letter Is a “Dramatic and Unprecedented” Event
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman on Thursday called on law enforcement to act quickly on suspicions that foreign money was used to influence the Knesset election. Smotrich said that the suspicion that the election was swayed by foreign Islamist money is “a test for the state,” and demanded that the heads of the Arab parties be questioned by the Shin Bet “today.” Liberman described the letter by Justice Noam Sohlberg, chairman of the Central Elections Committee, as “a dramatic and unprecedented event.” He called on law enforcement authorities “to act quickly in order to get to the truth as soon as possible.”
