Local Council Head Slams Defense Minister Over Regional Commander Dismissal
Shai Alon, Head of the Beit El Local Council, sharply criticized Defense Minister Katz for dismissing a regional commander live on air, calling it "a disgrace and a shame." Alon defended the commander, noting he established 104 communities. In a pointed remark, Alon suggested the move was motivated by primaries politics, saying "if you're short a few votes in the primaries, tell me and I'll make up the difference." He has appealed to the Prime Minister to end what he called a disgrace.
