Major fire near Haifa and Hukok prompts evacuations, planes deployed

A large fire is spreading on the slopes of Nahal HaGiborim in Haifa, near residential areas. Firefighting planes have been called in, but the blaze remains out of control. Simultaneously, a separate fire near Kibbutz Hukok is threatening homes. Ten firefighting teams and six planes from the "Elad" squadron are on site. Police have begun evacuating the first row of homes under emergency orders.
