Topaz Luk, a senior advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressed on Sunday the conduct of Israel's political and security leadership during the October 7 Hamas attack. Luk claimed that Netanyahu was the only official who remained functional and managed the response at the Kirya while top security officials were in a state of shock.
"You can tell stories until tomorrow," he said.
He stated that he arrived at the Kirya early that day and presented his account as an eyewitness: "I was among the first to arrive at the Kirya on that cursed day of 10/7."
He described the Prime Minister's performance, asserting that Netanyahu alone maintained control during the crisis: "The only one who functioned and the only one who managed things was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."
Alongside his praise for the Prime Minister, Luk leveled sharp criticism at the performance of security chiefs and senior command. According to him, in contrast to Netanyahu, they were paralyzed by shock at the unfolding events: "The Chief of Staff and the head of the Shin Bet and all the rest of the senior command of the security establishment were in unprecedented shock."
