Netanyahu and White House Envoy Witkoff Hold Extended Meeting in Washington

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a lengthy meeting with Steve Witkoff, the White House’s lead envoy on the hostage negotiations, at Blair House shortly before departing Washington this week. According to Israeli reporter Tamir Morg, part of the conversation was conducted privately, with just the two present. For another segment, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer joined the discussion. Witkoff is expected to travel to Qatar over the weekend to resume efforts aimed at bridging the gaps in ongoing negotiations between Israel and Hamas, with a focus on securing the release of hostages held in Gaza. The high-level talks come amid growing international pressure to finalize a deal that would bring a prolonged pause in hostilities and enable humanitarian access, while also addressing core demands from both sides.
