The official emphasized that while Tehran remains a persistent threat, recent military operations have severely weakened the regime's strategic capacity.
Addressing the leadership structure in Tehran, the official commented on Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei's status within the ruling hierarchy. "He is alive, but it is difficult to assess whether he is the one actually making the decisions," the official stated, adding that internal debates persist between hardline factions and those concerned over economic collapse.
The official detailed extensive damage inflicted on Iran's nuclear and conventional military infrastructure. "The goal is bringing the nuclear program to an end. The elimination of about 20 scientists removed a critical mass of knowledge. Alongside this, strikes were carried out on conversion equipment and centrifuges, and we destroyed the production floor for ballistic missiles," the official said, adding that Tehran now holds an arsenal of only 1,500 to 1,600 missiles.
Regarding specific nuclear sites, the official confirmed that enrichment activities at the heavily fortified Mount Pickaxe facility are currently inactive. "Enrichment with centrifuges is not being carried out at Mount Pickaxe," the official stated, while warning that Israel will not hesitate to act again against any attempts to rehabilitate the nuclear program or missile networks.
The briefing also touched on executive discussions held between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance. Netanyahu utilized maps during White House talks to illustrate that Israel holds only 0.1 percent of Syrian territory compared to Turkey's 5 percent, successfully countering calls for immediate Israeli military withdrawals from Syrian border areas.
Turning to domestic security concerns, the official noted an uptick in regional violence and confirmed that Prime Minister Netanyahu requested new operational plans from security forces. "We are considering acting against the remaining hotspots in refugee camps. The Prime Minister asked the security establishment to prepare a work plan on the matter," the official added, while noting that Palestinian Authority clearance funds will remain frozen.
