Toddler Critical After Tiberias Accident

A toddler was struck by a vehicle in the haredi neighborhood of the northern Israeli city. Emergency teams provided life-saving treatment at the scene before evacuating him to hospital with serious injuries.

One-Year-Old in Serious Condition After Being Hit by Car in Tiberias

A one-year-old boy was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in Tiberias, a city on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Shefa Chaim Street, located in a predominantly haredi (ultra-Orthodox) area of the resort city. Emergency dispatch centers received urgent calls reporting that a toddler had been hit, prompting an immediate response from multiple rescue organizations and police units.

First responders from MDA, United Hatzalah, and other volunteer rescue organizations arrived to find the child lying on the road with severe injuries. The toddler had sustained significant trauma to his head, abdomen, and limbs, and was in an altered state of consciousness when medics reached him.

Emergency medical teams immediately began administering life-saving treatment at the scene. Working under intense time pressure, they stabilized the child, applied complex bandaging, controlled bleeding, and worked to stabilize his vital signs before transport.

Following emergency treatment at the scene, the toddler was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to Poriya Medical Center (also known as Baruch Padeh Medical Center) in nearby Tiberias. Medical personnel classified his condition as serious. He was taken directly to the trauma unit for urgent examinations, imaging, and advanced medical intervention by specialist physicians.

At the same time, Israel Police officers from the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) district and traffic accident investigators arrived at Shefa Chaim Street. They cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive investigation, collecting physical evidence from the scene, taking statements from eyewitnesses who were present when the accident occurred, and questioning the driver of the vehicle involved.

Given the severity of the toddler's condition and grave concerns for his life, family members, rescue volunteers, and the wider community have called for prayers for his recovery. The public has been asked to pray for Yeshaya Osher ben Sarah Perl for a complete and speedy recovery among all the sick of Israel.
