Pakistani Defense Minister tells Al Jazeera: We haven't received aid request from Tehran

Pakistan’s Defense Minister told Al Jazeera on Monday that Iran has not requested military assistance and that Islamabad does not currently view the regional situation as escalating. “If the situation deteriorates, we will certainly respond,” the minister said, “but at present, we do not see an escalation.” The remarks come as Pakistan officially announced the closure of its border with Iran, amid growing instability following the outbreak of war between Israel and the Islamic Republic.
