Border Police Seize Handguns, M4 rifle and Over 2,300 Rounds in Chavla Raid

Border Police forces confiscated a major weapons cache overnight Thursday in the village of Chavla in the Ephraim Brigade area of Shomron, near Kalkilya. The operation was carried out on intelligence from the Crime Fighting Unit (Yalap) in the Samaria District, following information about illegal weapons in the location.

According to the Israel Police spokesperson, the forces raided the suspect location and conducted a thorough search. During the operation, they located a weapons cache that included three handguns, including an airsoft pistol, an M4 rifle, M16 rifle parts, over 2,300 rounds of ammunition in various calibers including 5.56mm and 9mm, and 67 magazines for M16 rifles, Kalashnikov rifles, Uzi submachine guns and handguns, some of them loaded with ammunition.

In addition to the firearms and ammunition, forces seized silencers, scopes, three "Roni" conversion kits for handguns, dozens of weapon parts, tactical accessories and related equipment. Two suspects were arrested during the operation and transferred for further investigation by the Crime Fighting Unit in Shomron in the Samaria District.

The operation joins a series of security force actions in Shomron in recent days. About a week ago, IDF, Shin Bet and Border Police forces launched a major counter-terror operation in the Chevron area, in which forces conducted focused and thorough searches of all infrastructure in the area to locate and neutralize terror infrastructure and weapons.

In the Northern District as well, police continue enforcement against possession of weapons. Several days ago, a sophisticated police operation led to the exposure of a converted handgun and the arrest of a resident of the village of Muqeibila, after police detectives tracked an electric motorcycle without license plates.
