Peace Council reaches agreement with Netanyahu on Gaza roadmap

A senior Peace Council official tells Al Jazeera the delegation reached an agreement with Netanyahu on the way forward in Gaza. The meeting with Kushner and Netanyahu was described as long, in-depth, and productive. Under the agreement, Israeli forces will not redeploy outside Gaza until Hamas is disarmed. Light and heavy weapons and tunnels in Gaza will be dismantled to prevent their use. Israel reserves the right to self-defense and to act if Hamas turns to terrorism or re-arms. The official says Israelis will give the roadmap a chance and the ball is now in Hamas's court.
