QatarEnergy CEO reports $20 billion annual losses from Iranian attack damage

QatarEnergy's CEO disclosed significant economic damages from Iranian attacks on the country's energy infrastructure. Two of 14 liquefied natural gas production units were damaged, along with one gas liquefaction facility. The damage has resulted in a 17% loss of Qatar's LNG exports for 3 to 5 years and a 24% reduction in condensate exports. Annual revenue losses are estimated at $20 billion, affecting facilities that cost $26 billion to construct. The company will invoke force majeure clauses in long-term contracts and stated production cannot resume until attacks cease.
