The Meteorological Service has issued a red alert, its highest warning level, for extreme heat in the Beit Shean Valley, the Sea of Galilee basin, and the Jordan Valley region.
Wednesday's forecast calls for continued clear skies after morning cloud cover breaks up. Temperatures will rise further, particularly in mountainous and inland regions, remaining well above normal for this time of year. The oppressive heat will intensify, with uncomfortable conditions persisting even during nighttime hours.
Thursday will follow a similar pattern, with clear conditions developing after morning clouds. Temperatures will remain elevated above seasonal averages throughout the day.
