Right-wing publicist and ideological figure Moti Karpel has offered a sharp critique of Israel's political landscape, arguing that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is blocking the nationalist and ideological right from achieving what could be a decisive electoral victory.
In a social media post, Karpel contended that without Netanyahu at the helm, "the ideological and security-oriented right would easily win the upcoming elections, and the left would suffer a historic and final defeat."
Karpel drew a distinction between what he termed the political right and the substantive ideological right. "While Netanyahu is the asset of the political right, the 'only Bibi' camp, he is the problem for the nationalist camp and for the security-policy and ideological right," Karpel wrote, describing the prime minister as "a heavy weight" holding back the movement.
