Senior Iranian Official Ali Shamkhani Responds to Assassination Attempt

Iranian news agency "Mehr" has released a statement from Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, detailing his survival after an attempted assassination. Shamkhani, who is also the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, recounted his experience of being trapped under rubble for three hours following a "Zionist" attack. Shamkhani, who suffered significant internal injuries and a broken chest, shared that despite his physical pain, he managed to pray the morning prayer beneath the debris. Initially, he mistook the attack for an earthquake but soon realized it was something far more sinister when he heard the sound of a car. While Shamkhani acknowledged he knew why he was targeted, he remained tight-lipped about the motives behind the attempt on his life.
