Senior ultra-Orthodox Knesset members Gafni and Maklev to leave parliament

Rabbi Dov Landau, leader of the Lithuanian ultra-Orthodox community, has sent letters to Knesset members Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev informing them they will leave the Knesset to make way for new representatives. In the letters, Rabbi Landau thanked both for their work in recent years and their efforts regarding yeshiva student status, conducted under guidance of Torah sages. Gafni has been asked to continue serving as chairman of the Degel HaTorah movement despite leaving parliament.
