Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed questions regarding potential enforcement of International Criminal Court arrest warrants during a Fox News interview on Wednesday. When asked how he would respond if a medical emergency forced his aircraft to land in a country recognizing the court's warrants, Netanyahu offered a cryptic remark hinting at operational contingencies.
"We have special forces, you know," Netanyahu stated in response to the query. The interview followed high level consultations held at the White House with President Donald Trump.
Reflecting on his discussions with President Trump, Netanyahu emphasized that bilateral strategic relations remain unshakeable despite public speculation regarding potential policy disagreements between the two administration teams. "The meeting was excellent. It was one of the best meetings we have had. I am always sorry to disappoint anyone trying to find cracks in the alliance between us. But what they find, like today, is a granite wall, because the President was very clear," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu reiterated that both nations maintain complete alignment regarding security objectives in the Middle East. "We have a shared commitment. We do not want to see the fanatical regime in Tehran obtain nuclear weapons, which would threaten every American, world peace, and the very existence of Israel," the Prime Minister added.
The Israeli leader emphasized that preventing a nuclear armed Iran remains a top priority that will be accomplished regardless of the operational path chosen. "We have a common goal, and it will be achieved, whether through diplomatic means or through other means. Both of us are committed to this. This is the main headline I would like you to take from the meeting," Netanyahu stated.
Netanyahu arrived at the White House alongside a senior delegation including Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, Policy Advisor Ophir Falk, Chief of Staff Ido Norden, Military Secretary Guy Markizano, and Advisor Caroline Glick. Ahead of the session, President Trump remarked to media outlets regarding intelligence briefings, stating, "I do not need Bibi to tell me about Mount Pickax. He tells me because he wants me to remain involved."
Following the Oval Office discussions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed via social media that meetings with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Netanyahu were positive and productive. Israeli Public Diplomacy Directorate Head Tzipi Hotovely confirmed during a briefing that maximum coordination exists between the leaders and stated that no American pressure was exerted to withdraw forces from achievements in Lebanon or Gaza.
According to statements provided by official spokespersons to Reuters, Israeli representatives affirmed that Gaza reconstruction will not commence prior to full demilitarization along designated security lines.
