Crime Wave in Northern Israel

Three Killed in Nazareth Shootings

Police launch investigation after two shooting attacks leave three dead in northern Israeli city; burned vehicle found nearby raises evidence concerns

Three Killed in Separate Shooting Incidents in Nazareth Within Hours

Three people were killed Wednesday evening in Nazareth, a city in northern Israel, in two separate shooting incidents that occurred within hours of each other. Police say both attacks appear to be criminally motivated.

In the first incident, two men, Nour Nafafa, 32, and Nour Halu, 20, were shot to death while sitting in a vehicle. Emergency services received the call at 7:04 p.m., and when Magen David Adom (Israel's national emergency medical service) paramedics arrived at the scene, they found both victims unconscious with severe gunshot wounds.

"We saw two men inside their vehicle, unconscious, with no pulse and not breathing, with severe penetrating injuries to their bodies," said MDA paramedic and senior medic Ala Aldin Bashir. "We performed medical examinations, but unfortunately we had no choice but to pronounce them dead at the scene."

Police have opened a murder investigation and launched searches for the suspects. Shortly after the shooting, a vehicle was found burning in a nearby area, and authorities are examining whether it was used by the gunmen.

Approximately two and a half hours after the double murder, a third fatal shooting occurred in Nazareth when a man around 25 years old was shot to death. Police continue to investigate both incidents and are conducting searches for the suspects.
