Border Police officers stationed at the Mazmoriya checkpoint near Jerusalem stopped a truck for routine inspection when the driver suddenly accelerated and fled the scene.
The driver's escape caused damage to checkpoint infrastructure and struck two civilian vehicles as he sped away, according to Israeli police.
Border Police units immediately gave chase, tracking the vehicle to the nearby village of al-Muntar. Upon arrival, officers found the truck abandoned. The driver had fled on foot, prompting a search operation.
