Tom Barrack cancels planned visits to Tyre amid protests

Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reports that U.S. envoy Tom Barrack canceled planned visits to Al-Khiam and Tyre due to anticipated protests. Barrack is still touring parts of southern Lebanon, though not all scheduled stops are taking place. Residents of the Shiite village of Al-Khiam greeted him with signs referencing his sharp remarks to journalists yesterday, calling him “a beast.”
