Turkey blocks LGBT cruise ship from docking, citing moral values

Turkey prevented the cruise ship Scarlet Lady from docking in Kuşadası, canceling its planned Friday arrival. Turkish authorities stated the participants' conduct "does not align with the fabric of Turkish society and its moral values." The vessel, carrying 1,900 passengers on an LGBT community cruise, rerouted to Crete and Egypt. The CEO of the organizing company said nothing similar had occurred in their 36 years of operation.
