Turkey's Vice President Says Egypt May Join Saudi-Pakistan-Turkey Defense Alliance
Turkey's Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that Egypt could join the newly signed defense pact between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. When asked if Egypt might join the agreement, Yılmaz responded, "Why not? Egypt is, of course, a very important country and a significant power – militarily, geographically, and also in terms of population size." He added that additional countries may join the framework in the near future. The comments follow yesterday's signing of the tripartite defense alliance.
