Turkish FM clarifies Mecca Pact is defensive, rules out offensive troop deployment to Saudi Arabia

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the Mecca defense agreement means Turkey will stand by Saudi Arabia if attacked, but emphasized it is not intended for offensive operations. "Turkey will not send its forces into the territory of another country to launch an offensive from there. This is a defense agreement," Fidan said, clarifying the nature of the pact between the two countries.
