Turkish Police Raid Opposition CHP Headquarters After Court Invalidates Leader's Appointment

Turkish police are raiding the headquarters of the main opposition party CHP following an Ankara Court of Appeals ruling that invalidated the 2023 appointment of Özgür Özel as party chairman. The court ruled Özel won the position through "vote buying" and ordered the party to reinstate former leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The judicial action marks Erdoğan's second elimination of a political rival in 14 months using the court system.
