U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth Compares Migration to Invasion at Normandy Anniversary
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth spoke at the 82nd anniversary ceremony of the Normandy invasion in France, drawing a controversial comparison between the historic D-Day landings and current migration to Europe. "Unfortunately, today other beaches in Europe are under invasion—from dangerous ideologies of a different kind," Hegseth said. He cited migrant boats arriving in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria, asking: "When will the capitals of Europe do something to deal with this invasion? Or is it already too late?"
