U.S. Removes Syrian Group Jabhat al-Nusra from Terror List

The United States has officially removed Jabhat al-Nusra — the Syrian jihadist group that later became part of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) — from its list of designated foreign terrorist organizations, according to a report by Barak Ravid. HTS, which now holds sway over parts of northwestern Syria, has long been led by Ahmad al-Sharaa, Syria’s current de facto president.
