Unidentified Jets Strike Syrian Airfield in Idlib Province

Syrian media report four strikes by unidentified fighter jets targeted the Abu al-Thuhur military airfield in Idlib province tonight. The runway was hit in the attack. The airfield is located approximately 70 km from the Syrian-Turkish border. Unofficial Syrian and Turkish sources suggest Israel may be behind the strikes. Turkey has been seeking to expand its military presence in Syria and establish bases on Syrian territory, which Israel has reportedly opposed in discussions with the US. Neither Turkey nor Syria has issued official statements on the incident.
