Sirens Sounded at U.S. Bases in Iraq During Iranian Missile Barrage on Israel
During Iran’s latest ballistic missile attack on Israel, air raid sirens were triggered at key U.S. facilities in Iraq. Both the U.S. Consulate General in Erbil (Northern Iraq) and Al-Asad Airbase (Western Iraq) ordered all personnel to take immediate shelter in fortified bunkers. The precaution was taken in response to explicit threats issued by Iran in recent weeks targeting American assets in the region. Though no direct hits on U.S. facilities have been reported yet, military officials remain on high alert as the regional conflict escalates.
