U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Dorothy Shea, stated that the American strike aimed to dismantle Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities and neutralize the nuclear threat posed by what she called "the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism." Shea emphasized that the operation was conducted under the right to collective self-defense as enshrined in the UN Charter. “Iran will not be permitted to acquire a nuclear weapon,” she declared, warning that any direct or proxy attack against U.S. citizens or assets would be answered with “a devastating response,” reiterating President Trump’s position.
