Hamas Official: “Netanyahu Not Interested in Ending the War”

In an interview with Qatar’s Al-Araby channel, senior Hamas official Taher al-Nunu claimed there is “nothing new of substance” in the negotiations for a hostage deal. According to al-Nunu, “Netanyahu is insisting on continuing the war and refuses to engage in any serious talks. He has no political will to exit this war, which has become pointless for him. He’s fighting for his personal survival.” Al-Nunu emphasized Hamas’s belief that the U.S. is the only actor truly capable of stopping the war: “If President Donald Trump genuinely wanted to end this war, he could. He could pressure Netanyahu and Israel into stopping the aggression against the Palestinian people, call for a ceasefire, and launch comprehensive negotiations.”
