Crackdown on Organized Crime: Nine Suspects Arrested
In a significant operation targeting organized crime, the National Unit for Investigating Serious and International Crime (Yahbal) under Lahav 433 has arrested nine suspects on suspicion of kidnapping, assault, and extortion. The investigation alleges that the suspects, led by a key figure, extorted a northern Israeli resident over a debt he allegedly owed to a Palestinian Authority individual. The suspects are accused of abducting the victim, physically attacking him, and threatening his life. The operation, conducted today, involved Yahbal detectives and Gideonim 33 fighters from Lahav 433, supported by tactical brigade fighters, Northern National Guard units, the "Granite" unit, and Border Police from the Eilat and Shfaram stations. The arrests targeted the nine suspects, who were brought to Lahav 433 headquarters for questioning. They are set to appear in court later for a hearing on extending their detention.
