Cabinet Approves Additional Aid Trucks to Northern Gaza Amid Hamas Concerns

The Israeli cabinet has approved the dispatch of additional aid trucks to northern Gaza. While assurances were given that the aid would not reach Hamas, the area is home to some 800,000 residents—including many affiliated with the terror group. Journalist Yaron Avraham noted that this is not the first time Hamas has seized control of aid trucks in recent weeks. He added that the government faces a strategic dilemma: either prevent residents from returning north or, if they are allowed to return, establish northern aid distribution centers similar to those in the south. "The problem," he said, "is that they want both—to push people south and allow them to return north, to rely on distribution mechanisms while flooding the area with UN aid trucks."
