IDF Denies Airstrike on Nabatieh Home, Blames Hezbollah Rocket Misfire

Reports in Lebanon on Friday claimed an Israeli airstrike destroyed a residential building in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. But the IDF denies targeting any civilian infrastructure there, instead pointing to a Hezbollah rocket that misfired during an Israeli strike on a Hezbollah site in the Beaufort Ridge area. IDF Arabic spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee stated, “The IDF did not strike any civilian building. The damage was caused by a Hezbollah rocket. Hezbollah continues to store its weapons near civilian homes, endangering the Lebanese population by refusing to hand over its arsenal to the Lebanese state.” Adraee emphasized that the Lebanese government bears full responsibility, accusing it of failing to disarm Hezbollah and allowing the militia’s rocket infrastructure to thrive.
