Lebanon Ties Hezbollah Disarmament to Israeli Withdrawal

Lebanese officials told the Lebanese Al-Jadeed channel that the response being prepared by Lebanon to the American document is based on a "step-for-step" approach, in contrast to the document submitted by Trump’s envoy to Syria, Baraq, which calls for Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah as a prerequisite for U.S. pressure on Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon. According to the report, Lebanon’s revisions include a correlation between steps, starting with the Lebanese government announcing a decision for Hezbollah to surrender its weapons in exchange for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. This would be followed by Hezbollah handing over its weapons north of the Litani River as a second step, conducted in parallel with a full Israeli withdrawal from the south.
