Defense Minister Katz Backs Haredi Conscription Plan

In a conversation with soldiers today, Katz expressed support for a recently agreed-upon Haredi conscription plan during a discussion with soldiers. Acknowledging the necessity of ultra-Orthodox enlistment, Katz emphasized the need for practical measures, stating that expecting full Haredi participation is unrealistic. "If this law passes, 10,000 Haredim will enlist for combat and combat-support roles within the next two years," Katz said, while stressing his commitment to preserving the Haredi Torah study system.
