Palestinian Sentenced to 21 Years for Terror Car-Ramming Attack in Netanya

The Central District Court sentenced Dawud Abiyat, a Palestinian from the PA married to an Israeli woman, to 21 years in prison and NIS 150,000 in compensation for attempting to murder a Jewish Israeli in a 2023 vehicular attack. The court found that Abiyat deliberately ran over a man riding a scooter near Netanya's central station “in order to die a martyr.” After the attack, he fled the scene with his wife and child in the car.
