Fatah-Aligned Clans Deny Allegations of Collaboration with Israel

Amid growing reports of militias allegedly operating alongside the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the Helles clan—one of Gaza’s largest families associated with Fatah—issued an official statement denying accusations of treason and cooperation with Israel. The statement follows claims circulated through unofficial channels linked to Hamas’s “Sahm” unit, alleging that Rami Helles and his associates are forming a militia to assist Israel in eastern Gaza City.Similar accusations have been directed at Yasser Hanidak of the prominent Barbakh clan in Khan Younis. According to unofficial sources, Hanidak’s group engaged in armed clashes with Hamas operatives near Nasser Hospital. Hamas has not yet issued an official response regarding Helles or Hanidak, unlike in previous cases.
