Khamenei Misses Second Night of Mourning Ceremonies

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been absent for the second consecutive night from traditional mourning ceremonies held at his official residence, known as Beit Rahbari (“the Leader’s House”). These annual religious events, typically attended by Khamenei, have continued without any public appearance or statement from him. While unverified rumors circulated earlier this week suggesting he might attend at least one of the ceremonies, his continued nonattendance is being closely watched by analysts and dissidents alike. Some observers now believe that Iranian authorities may delay confirming any health developments until rumors of Khamenei’s death gain momentum—at which point a carefully staged appearance could be used to reaffirm his control. No official comment has been issued by Iranian state media.
