IAEA Pulls Inspectors from Iran Amid Security Concerns

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has withdrawn all its inspectors from Iran due to heightened security risks, the Wall Street Journal reports. The move follows weeks of inflammatory rhetoric in Iran targeting IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi and a recent decision by Iran's president to formally suspend IAEA oversight of the country's nuclear facilities. In an official statement, the IAEA confirmed that its inspectors safely departed Iran and returned to the agency’s headquarters in Vienna after remaining in Tehran throughout the recent military conflict. Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized the urgency of resuming inspections, stating, "It is important to discuss ways to restart our monitoring and inspection activities in Iran as soon as possible."
