Hezbollah Fumes as U.S. Envoy’s Lebanon Talks Hit Snag

Hezbollah is bristling over U.S. envoy Tom Barrack’s recent remarks, which lauded Lebanon’s government but urged peace with Israel while hinting at waning U.S. support if Lebanon doesn’t comply, a source close to the group told Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hadath channel. The militant group’s frustration stems from Barrack’s diplomatic yet firm stance during Beirut meetings, described as “escalatory” by insiders.Lebanon revised its response to Barrack’s ceasefire proposal overnight, adding a pledge to limit weapons to state control and demanding U.S. guarantees that Israel will halt attacks and withdraw from Lebanese territory. Hezbollah now watches closely to see if Washington greenlights Israeli escalation post-visit
