Qatar: Talks Still in Early Stages, but Atmosphere Is Positive
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson said mediators are working toward ending the war in Gaza. Both delegations—Israeli and Hamas—are currently in Doha, holding separate discussions with Qatari officials. “The talks are still focused on drafting a general framework—detailed negotiations haven’t begun yet,” the spokesperson noted. “We’re working to bridge the gaps and create the right atmosphere. It’s too early to speak about specifics, but there’s a positive sentiment.” The official emphasized that “the process takes time, and there’s no set timeline. We’re now discussing an initial framework and principles. Once that’s agreed upon, we hope to move to the proposal phase.” He warned that “leaks are irresponsible and could jeopardize progress. The process needs quiet. While we won’t speak to the precise authority of the Israeli delegation, the level of engagement has been constructive.”
