Crude Oil Spill Near Kibbutz Snir During Tapline Cleaning
Thousands of liters of crude oil mixed with water were released into an open area near Kibbutz Snir at the foot of the Golan Heights during a cleaning operation of the Trans-Arabian Pipeline (Tapline), which once transported Saudi oil to refineries in Lebanon through the Golan, Kan News reported. The Ministry of Environmental Protection has ordered the heads of the Israel Water Authority and Mei Golan, the regional water company, to halt a planned additional cleaning to prevent further environmental damage.
