Kibbutz Nahal Oz Threatens Petition to High Court

Kibbutz Nahal Oz is threatening to file a petition to Israel’s High Court against the government's decision to return residents to the community while war is still ongoing in Gaza. In a sharply worded statement, the kibbutz warns: “Security risk is not limited to infiltration or direct fire—it’s the very act of living in the heart of an active war zone. Nahal Oz sits in a space with heavy IDF presence, continuous ground maneuvers, and the constant sound of gunfire and explosions around the clock.” The kibbutz is located just a few hundred meters from the Gaza border, directly facing the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in Gaza City. The surrounding area has been declared a closed military zone. “This is a reality that makes normal life impossible and stands in direct contradiction to claims that there is no security concern,” the statement concludes.
