Iranian President Injured in Israeli Strike during War
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sustained a leg injury during an Israeli strike on June 16 targeting a meeting of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), according to a report by Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency. The strike, which reportedly involved six precision-guided bombs or missiles, hit the building’s entry and exit points—an apparent effort to seal off escape routes and disrupt ventilation systems. Following the explosions, the power was cut—but the senior officials managed to escape through an emergency exit. Some of them, including the president, sustained minor injuries during the escape. The incident marked one of the highest-level Iranian leadership casualties in the Israel-Iran War.
