Columbia University to Pay $200 Million in Federal Settlement Over Antisemitism

Columbia University has agreed to a $200 million settlement with the Trump administration, according to officials familiar with the deal—marking one of the largest payouts by an American university in recent history. The agreement is aimed at recouping nearly half of the $400 million in federal research funding that was withdrawn by the Trump administration earlier this year. In return, Columbia will pay damages tied to allegations of civil rights violations and its failure to prevent antisemitic assaults and harassment against Jewish students on campus.
