Hamas Signals Willingness to Return to Qatar Proposal

Palestinian sources told Saudi outlet Al-Hadath that Hamas has expressed willingness to return to the Qatari proposal from January regarding IDF withdrawal maps in the Gaza Strip. According to the report, the proposal outlines an IDF pullback to a line located 700 meters from the border, with the option of extending the buffer by up to 400 meters at specific points—subject to mutual approval of the maps. The sources added that Hamas may show flexibility on certain map adjustments, but remains firmly opposed to any IDF presence along the Morag corridor, claiming it blocks the return of some 400,000 Palestinians to Rafah—posing a major obstacle to any potential agreement.
