Israeli Defense Minister Katz will fly to Washington tonight

Defense Minister Israel Katz will depart tonight for a diplomatic visit to Washington, where he is scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, alongside other senior officials in the Trump administration. The visit will center on key security and strategic issues, including the Iranian threat, additional regional concerns, military procurement, and expanded defense cooperation between Israel and the United States. Katz will be accompanied by Director General of the Defense Ministry Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, IDF Maj. Gen. Oded Basiuk, Defense Attaché to the U.S. Maj. Gen. Hidai Zilberman, Defense Minister’s Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Guy Markizano, and other top defense officials. Despite being abroad, Katz will continue to monitor security developments in Syria and maintain close communication with military and government leaders in Israel.
