IDF publishes new photos of Hamas' defacto leader in the Gaza Strip, Izz al-Din Haddad.

IDF spokesperson Avichai Adraee exposed a photo of Ezz al-Din al-Haddad, Hamas’s Gaza Brigade commander, found in a tunnel beneath Khan Younis’s European Hospital. Adraee says that the picture captures Haddad’s desperate attempt to flee and conceal his identity, his altered appearance betraying deep fear and a bid to blend into the shadows.While Hamas pushes a global narrative of “hunger” in Gaza, Adraee suggested Haddad was comfortably shielded from deprivation, far from the suffering he helped inflict. As one of the last standing Hamas leaders, Haddad is blamed for steering Gaza into ruin and weakening Iran’s regional axis. “Did shame and fear of the destruction caused by Hamas-ISIS push him to change his face and go undercover?” Adraee asked.Haddad may cast himself as a “hero,” but Adraee challenged Gaza’s residents—many living in tents amid rubble—to judge a man hiding in tunnels, disguising himself while evading accountability. “Can someone who led the Strip to devastation and now ducks responsibility be called a hero?” he wrote, casting doubt on Haddad’s bravado.
