Col. Matan Feldman Appointed New Commander of IDF Jenin Brigade

Col. Matan Feldman—former Golani Reconnaissance Unit commander and chief of staff to IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, including on October 7—has assumed command of the Jenin Regional Brigade. He replaces Col. Ayoub Kayouf, who will soon become Head of Operations at IDF General Staff. The change-of-command ceremony took place in the heart of Jenin refugee camp, which the IDF has controlled continuously for several months and cleared of residents due to the ongoing extended operation there and in other northern Samaria refugee camps. Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, commander of the IDF Judea and Samaria Division, said at the ceremony: “We can say with full confidence—Jenin camp no longer poses the same threat it once did. We have achieved freedom of action in a place that for years was a closed, hostile enclave and a sanctuary where Israel hardly ever set foot.”
